We took a group of high school students on a mission trip to Belize, and our hosts wanted the team to experience a local tradition: plunging into the pool at the base of a waterfall. To provide some courage, host Bert took the hand of Adam and they leapt together. This image is a metaphor for the connection our students developed with the hosts as they did many things together that took our students outside their comfort zones. "Jab-Sang of Changdeokgung Palace" by Lyra Lee

Jab-sang (잡상) are small clay figurines placed on top of the tiled roof of a king’s palace. These are also called as “어처구니” which is translated as 'ridiculous.' They symbolize preventing bad luck and protecting the palace against disasters and evil spirits. Location: Seoul, South Korea

This cluster of islands does not allow motorized land vehicles besides emergency vehicles, so boat is the only form of transportation. The orange platform is a ferry, where only 4 people are allowed on at once, to cross the strip of water.

During altybakan, young men and women usually perform songs. Pietro Querini, an Italian sea captain discovered codfish (Tørrfisk in Norwegian) when he was shipwrecked in Lofoten, Norway in 1432. After popularizing the fish in Italy, Cod Fish dominated the northern Norwegian economy. Part of the process in preparing the Cod Fish is to hang them out to dry on large drying racks which you can now find all over the island. Location - Nusfjord, Norway
